Dear friends,

I am C.Ramesh from Keeramangalam, Pudukkottai District. I'd like to invite the attention of our group members to the recent proposal of the Central Government to amend the Right to information Act,2005.

Many civil liberties activists are trying hard to stop the proposed amendments (to exclude file notings and cabinet papers from the purview of the RTI act). I am one such activists, interested in securing the people's right to information.

I'd be very much thankful if our group members also take part in our endeavour to raise our voice against the proposed amendments to RTI Act. Those who are interested may write to the Prime minister requesting him not to proceed with the proposed amendments to the RTI Act.
